Hi, I’m Ashton,
A mother, a wife, a storyteller—and someone who sees the beauty in your everyday.
I’m a mother to four incredible little souls, a wife to my best friend, and the heart behind the lens here at Ashton Jane Photography. We live nestled in the bushland of Jarrahdale, and from here I serve families all across Perth and the South of Perth, creating imagery that’s not about perfection, but about presence.
When I became a mother, everything changed. I learned that love doesn’t shout—it whispers. It lives in the weight of a sleepy head against your chest, the softness in your child’s laugh, and the way your partner looks at you when you’re not even noticing. That’s the kind of beauty I want to preserve for you—the kind you feel when you look back.

About me

a little bit

My Vision is to create art that makes you feel—
not just now, but decades from now.

I don’t want to just give you pretty photos.
I want to give you something deeper—
a return ticket to this version of you.
My vision is to hold space for your family to be exactly who you are—messy, beautiful, wild, soft.
To document the love that lives in the in-between.
To honour motherhood in all its raw, real, heart-expanding glory.
Because one day, when the house is quiet and the kids are grown, I want you to be able to look back and say—
“That was us. That was real. And it was so beautiful.”

“Let them be wild. Let them be soft. Let them be seen.”

I’m inspired by the raw and unfiltered moments—the messy, the beautiful, the chaotic in-between that makes up real life.
Not the curated, highlight-reel version, but the truth of it. The truth you’ll want to hold onto when the baby outgrows your arms or your children no longer fit on your lap.

I’m endlessly moved by the strength of women. The softness of motherhood. The courage it takes to be vulnerable and the beauty in simply being seen.

Every time I pick up my camera, I’m chasing that—
the feeling behind the frame.
The love that’s felt, not forced.
The moments you didn’t even know you needed to remember.

That’s what drives me.
That’s what inspires me.
And that’s what I pour into every session I create.

i'm not chasing perfection- I'm chasing the moments you didn't even know you needed to remember~

Things I love…
The simple things, always.
~ A slow morning with a hot coffee before the house wakes up
~ Evening forrest walks with my kids
~ Soft light pouring into messy rooms
~ The sound of little feet running through the house
~ Honest conversation and big belly laughs
~ The evening routine sitting with my youngest in his rocking chair
~ The quiet magic in the ordinary
~ Bird songs while watching the sun go down over the hills.

My Favourite things~

Let’s be honest—my life is a beautiful kind of chaos.
I’m a mother to four, a homeschooling mum to my eldest, and part of a FIFO family that has lived through long stretches of solo parenting, late-night FaceTime calls, and learning how to hold everything (and everyone) together.

Some days are hard.
Some days are loud, messy, overwhelming.
And yet—I wouldn’t trade any of it.

Because somewhere in the middle of the school books and toy-strewn floors, the sleepless nights and the wild giggles—I found this deep, burning passion for capturing what’s real.

Photography, for me, is more than a job.
It’s a lifeline. A grounding place. A way to slow time and honour the beauty that lives inside the chaos.

I know what it’s like to feel touched-out, unseen, exhausted—but also to love so deeply it aches.
I know what it’s like to want to remember your children as they are—not just how they looked, but how it felt to be wrapped up in their world.

And that’s what I bring to every session.
Not just technical skill, but empathy. Presence. A lived-in understanding of what it means to be a mother.

I see you, because I am you.
And I’m here to show you that your story—mess and all—is already enough.

Rooted in chaos, feuled by love

Come as you are. Stay as long as you need. Let it unfold naturally.

This isn’t about stiff poses, forced smiles, or perfectly behaved children.
This is about presence—real, raw, honest presence.

My sessions are calm, child-led, and deeply intentional. I don’t spend every moment telling you what to do. Instead, I offer gentle prompts that allow genuine connection to unfold—because I believe the truest moments happen when you’re just being, not performing.

Here’s what that looks like:
 • I’ll never ask you to “smile at the camera”—instead, I might say,
“Hold your little one close and tell them what you love most about them.”
 • Rather than pose your hands, I’ll whisper,
“Tuck her hair behind her ear the way you always do.”
 • I’ll ask your partner,
“Tell her one thing she doesn’t hear enough.”

Your children are free to explore, play, run barefoot, get a little messy, and just be kids. There are no bribes here, no expectations of perfection. I follow their lead—and when they lead, the magic follows.

By the end of your session, my hope is that you’ll walk away not only with beautiful images but with a deeper sense of connection—to yourself, your partner, your children, and this fleeting chapter of your life.
